Introduction >>
Allow duty free import of raw and intermediate materials and capital goods to manufacture for exports.

Three sites so far have been declared as Export Processing Zones. These are Fumba Free Zone, Amaan Industrial Park and Micheweni Free Zone.

Fumba Free Zone >>
Located 24 km from the seaport and 10 km from Zanzibar International Airport in the southwest of Unguja Island (Zanzibar) and covering an area of 3000 hectares, Fumba Free Zone is the largest zone in Zanzibar. It is relatively green and therefore suitable for customertailored construction of industrial sheds/warehouses. All utilities are within reach. Ideal for light engineering and projects based on the maximum use of local raw materials such as marine and agriculture resources and labour intensive factories like garment manufacturing.

Amaan Industrial Park >>
Located just 3 km from the seaport and 2 km from airport, Amaan Industrial Park is fairly developed and operational and covers an area of 12.5 hectares. Existing infrastructure includes:
  • Industrial sheds/warehouses.
  • All necessary utilities like electricity, water and telecommunication.
  • On site customs inspection.

  • Micheweni Free Zone >>
Covering an area of 808.8 hectares, 75 km from the seaport and 45 km from the airport, this zone is located at Micheweni, on the northeastern tip of Pemba. Like the Fumba zone, Micheweni offers untouched land ready to host potential investors.
